# The Desi Life (देसी लाइफ) – full context

The Desi Life is a free 3D multiplayer life simulation game with an Indian setting. It runs in a web browser on mobile and desktop, with no download. It is for players aged 13 and over; players aged 13 to 17 can play only after a parent or guardian approves their account by email. Sexual or explicit content is not allowed. ## What it is
Players create a 3D anime-style avatar (female or male; body shape, height, skin tone, face, hair, eye and clothing colours) and live in Mayanagari, a city with roads, working traffic lights, zebra crossings, billboards, neighbourhoods (Chandni Chowk bazaar, Nehru Bagh park, Jalsa Hub nightlife, the Shanti Enclave suburb), a beach and a pier. Sundargaon is the village outside the city. Other players share the world, along with computer-controlled characters (people on the streets, the gym coach and regulars).

## What players can do
- Walk, jog and sprint in third-person or first-person street view, or see the whole city from an isometric map view. Touch screens use a joystick that appears under the thumb; computers use W A S D or arrow keys.
- Book an auto-rickshaw or a yellow taxi with Lumi (the fare is shown first, and it can be cancelled for a refund before boarding), choose a destination from a list or by tapping the map, watch the vehicle arrive, get in, and ride along the road while the map follows.
- Enter venues: cafés, a gym, a cinema, a mall, a market, a swimming pool, a nightclub and more.
- Work out at the gym: time on machines builds in-game fitness, which shapes the avatar's body.
- Wave, chat and dance (club, hip hop, Latin and party dances, plus couple dances with another player's agreement).
- Meet other players with a "Say hi" request that the other player must accept before a private chat starts. Players can block and report others.
- Each player has a villa (a home address) in the Shanti Enclave suburb.

## How to play
1. Open https://thedesilife.com/login in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
2. Sign up with an email and password, a display name, the avatar's gender and a month and year of birth. Players aged 13 to 17 also enter a parent's or guardian's email and can play once the parent approves.
3. Enter the city. A ready-made avatar look is given; it can be changed any time with Edit avatar.

## Money
- Playing is free.
- Lumi is an in-game currency with no cash value; it cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for money.
- Advertising: adult (18+) advertisers rent 4 x 4 metre ground plots in the fields around Mayanagari (one week or one month, paid in Indian rupees through Razorpay). ## Privacy and safety (summary)
- Data kept: email, password (salted hash only), display name, avatar gender, month and year of birth, parent's email for under-18s, avatar look, last position, fitness and Lumi, a 60-day activity log, blocks and reports. Chats are not stored except the last lines attached to a report.
- Google Analytics runs only if a visitor accepts it on the cookie banner, and never for players under 18. No advertising trackers; data is not sold.
